Danzan Training
Training at Burbank Danzan Dojo involves learning to roll and fall (Sutemi), to move and balance (Tai Sabaki), to block and strike (Uke & Ate) to escape from grabs (Hazushi), to lock and manipulate joints (Kensetsu), to throw & project (Nage), to submit an opponent (Shime), to unify your breath, body and mind (Kiai) and to boldly enter into battle (Isami). Our training occurs in 4 phases and students are brought along at their own pace.

The ultimate aim of the Danzan Arts is to replace fear with confidence and create an "integrated" mind and body. In other words, to help you become the person you were meant to be. Living without fear is a tall order. The path to that awakening will be challenging.

Danzan is not a fight club. It's a sophisticated martial system designed to create "masters." Danzan cultivates your warrior-spirit by helping you face and overcome your fear. Master the system and you master yourself.
