Training at Burbank Danzan Dojo focuses on improving your balance, coordination, flexibility and control. One must first cultivate a strong, supple body to train safely in this dynamic system. Dojo members are taken thru 4 phases of training and are brought along at pace that is both progressive and safe.


Our skills and techniques can be devastating and therefore must be practiced with dicipline. The ultimate aim of the Danzan Arts is not to impress your friends or win a trophy, its to replace fear with confidence and integrate mind and body.

Danzan classes are comprised of physical conditioning (balance, flexibility, core strength), range drills (boxing, grappling), technical forms (kata) and free-application (waza). Ultimately, our aim is to train hard, master the arts and take care of each other (malama).
